What could possibly go wrong?

The longest successive period of time any human being has spent in zero gravity is during the Apollo moon missions when Apollo astronauts spent approximately 72 hours in zero gravity on the way to the Moon in the 1960's and 1970's.

The Musk math just doesn't add up to MISSION ACCOMPLISHED; but indicates MISSION FAILURE as the most likely outcome.

Who in their right mind would actually go to Brownsville, Texas, hop on the cold steel elevator to the top of the 365 foot tall, giant-sized Musk Magic Rocketship, blastoff and ride 140 million miles to Mars, land on Mars, build a habitat, live in the habitat for over a year waiting to return to Earth; then attempt to walk away from your habitat to attempt reboarding Musk's Magic Rocketship that will hopefully crank up and haul you another 140 million miles IN SIX MONTHS OF ZERO GRAVITY - back to face unprecedented and untested re-entry issues and a possible unscheduled disassembly event caused by heat shield failure.

What could possibly go wrong?

Here's a list of things that could go wrong:

*mission failure within minutes of launch due to oxygen leak issues, as with previous Musk missions and the 1986 Challenger explosion;

*mission failure during the 140 million mile journey to Mars due to crew disability;

*mission failure during landing on Mars;

*mission failure exiting or attempting to exit the rocketship;

Remember, once you land on Mars you are stuck on Mars for an entire year or longer waiting for the return window - in the meantime your body continues to debilitate even further in Martian gravity - only 38% of Earth gravity.

NASA built and maintained manned space stations primarily to trying to solve the insurmountable physical problems caused by prolonged exposue to microgravity.

Elon Musk recently called for the quick destruction of the space station - which would end discussion about the well-known insurmountable physiological barriers to societal colonization of Mars.

"Muscular atrophy incapacitation due to microgravity" refers to the significant loss of muscle mass experienced by astronauts during prolonged space missions in microgravity, which can severely impair their physical abilities and potentially render them unable to perform necessary tasks, including upon re-entry to Earth's gravity due to muscle weakness and reduced strength.

In microgravity, muscles are not required to work against gravity as they do on Earth, leading to a decrease in muscle protein synthesis and an increase in muscle breakdown, resulting in muscle atrophy.

Consequences

Difficulty performing physical tasks during spacewalks or upon landing back on Earth.

Countermeasures:

To mitigate muscle atrophy, astronauts engage in rigorous exercise routines during space missions, including resistance training, to stimulate muscle growth and maintain strength.

However, despite NASA-mandated two hour daily hard exercise astronauts were unable to walk upon return to Earth gravity; further, daily rigorous exercise did not prevent astronaut hearts from shrinking by at least one-third their original size.

I contend that most reasonable people reviewing the facts, conditions and capabilities related to boarding Elon's rocketship to Mars and completing the mission would decline to board Elon's rocketship to Mars.

However, Elon will have no problem finding and paying someone to board his Magic Mushroom Rocketship to Mars - someone who's not worried about dying on Mars.

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone could force Elon Musk to hop onboard his own rocketship to Mars; however, someone could create a petition to calling for Musk to be onboard his first mission flight to Mars - Richard Branson style.

Decades of NASA medical research reveals that a majority of all astronauts who spent several months or longer in Earth orbit microgravity suffered temporary and permanent damage to their bodies as a direct result of prolonged exposure to microgravity.

CAUSE OF DEATH: Mission failure due to crew incapacitation; specifically, muscular atrophy incapacitation, blindness or greatly reduced vision and additional medical complications caused by 12 MONTHS OF ZERO GRAVITY, 12 MONTHS OF 38% MARTIAN MICROGRAVITY.

*Six months exposure to ZERO GRAVITY traveling to Mars;

*Twelve months exposure to 38% microgravity on the surface of Mars;

Anyone can view videos of astronauts returning from Earth orbital gravity being carried out of the capsule precisely because they cannot walk due to prolonged exposure to microgravity.

Questions remain about the effects of long-duration deep-space missions in which astronauts would experience much higher levels of space radiation and prolonged microgravity.

Neither Elon Musk, SpaceX nor NASA have provided any viable solution or zero gravity testing data and results regarding astronauts being subjected to at least (12) twelve months of ZERO GRAVITY and the terminal, grave consequences of subjecting employees to twelve months of ZERO GRAVITY.

Therefore astronauts who acclimate from seven to ten months in ZERO GRAVITY to 38% of Earth terrestrial gravity (the degree of gravity on Mars) will surely suffer total and complete physical incapacitation due to prolonged exposure to 7 to 10 months of ZERO GRAVITY.

Elon Musk never talks about these hard, unsolved physiological barriers to sending humans to Mars, much less instituting societal colonization of Mars - something that will NEVER HAPPEN IN YOUR LIFETIME.
