Elon Musk's Dad named him after the main character Elon in "Das Marsprojekt" written in 1947 by German Nazi rocket scientist Dr. Wernher Von Braun, who designed Nazi Germany's infamous V-2 rockets Germany used to attack Allied cities:

The German V-2 missile, powered by a liquid-propellant rocket engine, was developed by Dr. Wernher Von Braun during the Second World War in Nazi Germany as a "vengeance weapon" and assigned to attack Allied cities as retaliation for the Allied bombings of German cities.

A full 17 years before Armstrong's small step for man and a giant leap for mankind, Von Braun envisioned a mission so ambitious that it'd be labeled a tall order even by contemporary space mission standards. In his book Das Marsprojekt (The Mars Project), Von Braun explains in exquisite detail over 91 pages his vision of a grand "enormous scientific expedition" to Mars using a fleet of ten spaceships.

Von Braun's reasoning for such a huge convoy of spaceships essentially boiled down to the philosophy that had the original discoverers of the western world not traveled in similar numbers of ships, they'd have never made it back to Scandanavia, Spain, China, or wherever they suspect landed there first this week.

In Dr. Wernher Von Braun's science-fiction novel, a spaceship travels to Mars and encounters Martians whose leader is called, "THE ELON."

Errol Musk, Elon's father and uncle said as a child growing up in apartheid South Africa he read this book and named his son after THE ELON in The Mars Project.

Errol Musk raised his step-daughter since she was four years old then impregnated her when she was nineteen years old and birthed a baby boy Errol named "Elon Musk."

Elon's maternal grandfather, Joshua Haldeman was the leader of a pro-Hitler fascist movement in the 1930's called TECHNOCRACY INC. They wanted a society ruled by technocrats, scientists and engineers.

On Musk's SEC TESLA corporate documents he titled himself "Techno King" instead of CEO or CFO.

Elon Musk and Canadian musician Grimes have a son named X Æ A-Xii Musk, who was born in May 2020. The name was originally X Æ A-12, but was changed to comply with California law. The child is nicknamed "X".

Musk and Grimes also have a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, who was born in December 2021 via surrogate. The parents nicknamed her "Y" because her brother's nickname is "X".

Explanation
